St. Croix Falls wins section golf meet; on to state
Jennifer Benoy is meet champ; Lindsay Danielson of Osceola is second and will golf at state.
St. Croix Falls won the Division 2 Osceola Sectional golf championship this week and the entire team will make an appearance in the state tournament on Monday.
Baldwin-Woodville took second place, just two strokes behind St. Croix Falls, 178-180 and they, too, earned a spot at the state meet.
Northwestern of Maple, WI also qualified as a team by taking third with a team score of 194.
Osceola was fifth with 207 points.
St. Croix Falls Jennifer Benoy won the meet by shooting a 37 on nine holes at Krooked Kreek in Osceola.
One stroke back in second, but qualifying as an individual for state was Osceola’s Lindsay Danielson. In third place, one stroke behind Danielson was Marissa Campeau of St. Croix Falls.
Danielson will tee off at the state meet at University Ridge in Madison at 9:04 a.m. on Monday. The St. Croix Falls team begins at 9:52 a.m. Benoy’s first shot will begin at 10:24 with Campeau at 10:16.
The finals will be held on Tuesday at the same site.
